I love how homophobes are so hypocritical. It’s okay for this dude to express his First Amendment Rights of Free Speech, but it’s no okay for him to be punished for infringing on someone else’s civil rights.
A farmer from Michigan is suing the city of East Lansing, Michigan after he was banned from selling produce in a farmer’s market because of a homophobic Facebook post.
Stephen Tennes is a farmer on the outskirts of East Lansing and also rents his land out for weddings.
His farm quickly became a popular location for the joyous celebrations, but in December the farmer announced that he would only permit heterosexual marriages on his premises.
You know, politicians want you to believe that the terrorists like ISIS/ISL are the terrorists we need to focus on. Meanwhile, terrorists in our own backyard will destroy this country from within like a fucking cancer. I am ASHAMED to say that any part of my family is from that horrible state. I have cousins that live there now, but I know they embrace the hatred so as far as I’m concerned, they are nobodies.
The atmosphere in North Carolina is growing more hostile by the day. Now that LGBTQ discrimination is officially legal in the Tar Heel State, antigay terrorists have decided to kick things up a notch by burning rainbow flags outside of LGBTQ-friendly churches.
After the state’s homophobic governor Pat McCrory signed HB2 into law last month, effectively legalizing hate and discrimination against LGBTQ people in North Carolina, the United Church of Christ in Hillsborough raised two rainbow flags as a show of solidarity with the gay community.
Now THIS is what I call Karmic Justice!!
A New York church notorious for posting homophobic messages on its billboard may be on the auction block. But if fundraising efforts are successful, the parish’s history of hate could be repurposed into something truly beautiful.
A New York state judge has ordered the ATLAH World Missionary Church to be sold at a public foreclosure auction, according to court records cited by DNAinfo New York. The church, which has been known to display messages like “Jesus would stone homos” and “Obama has released the homo demons on the black man” on its billboard, has reportedly amassed debts and tax liens totaling more than $1.02 million.
I’m not so sure humiliation is the way to go with this lesson. Anyone else have thoughts?
A South Carolina mother is under investigation after forcing her son to wear women’s clothing while being paraded through a Walmart as a means of public punishment.
Rock Hill Police were called to the local Walmart on Oct. 4 over a boy wearing a tutu, women’s boots and a woman’s undergarment with his head shaved “in an unusual manner, bald on top with a patch of wig on the front of his head” and “BAD” written on the back of his head, according to the Herald. The mother told officers she was “punishing her son for fighting and making homophobic remarks in school.”
Okay a true phobia involves fear, not hatred. Yet we sling homophobia around when we mean that people hate gays and lesbians. Yet, maybe we aren’t. I’m beginning to strongly believe that people who are homophobic are afraid that others will find out that they are homosexual and they act on that fear in anger and hatred.
In a utopian society, children will be brought up to value acceptance, embrace difference and replace judgement with understanding. However, reality has it that many kids are still conditioned by the belief that to be gay is to be wrong.
Of course, this is not always the case and many families and communities are exceptional in discouraging prejudices. From personal experience, since coming out in my late teens, I’ve never been made to feel uncomfortable in any way by either family or friends – though the fear of what I may have faced was certainly a deterrent in accepting myself earlier.
Though for the kids who didn’t have the encouraging surroundings like myself and many others, where little to no acceptance is shown from anything considered ‘different’, part of the growing up process meant breaking free of certain learned behaviours or prejudices.
Actually, yes I would believe what he’s saying. If only more people like my dear dear friend NotJustABlonde were more vocal to drown out the sound of crap like this. It astonishes me that a so-called Christian would actually tell someone to commit suicide. That is apalling. As far as I’m concerned NotJustABlonde is far more of a real Christian than this putrid piece of humanity.
There never seems to be a shortage of right-wing Christian extremists spewing out vitriolic nonsense, but Pastor Logan Robertson has risen to the top of the flock this week by tripling down on hate.
The story starts with Jim Marjoram, a self-proclaimed gay Christian who has written a book about his experience in the church and his faith. He sent an email out to around 400 churches about his project, and received a reply he could hardly believe.
Pastor Robertson of the Westcity Bible Baptist Church wrote “we are not interested in your filthy lifestyle or book,” adding, “I pray that you will commit suicide, you filthy child molesting fag.”
Maybe at some point people will realize that while there is Freedom of Speech in this country, it is not without consequences. Spreading hate is not without consequences either.

Following the historic coming out of Division I college football player Michael Sam, the social media backlash was both predictable and horrifying. However, one college athlete is now experiencing the repercussions of what can happen when you choose to be homophobic on Twitter.
Kent State wrestler Sam Wheeler has reportedly been suspended from the university’s team after taking to Twitter to voice his feelings about Sam’s decision to publicly come out.
Through Wheeler’s Twitter account has since been deleted, Outrage DC managed to take a screen capture of the initial statements.
I’ll admit it: my first reaction was something I had to delete because I should not want to hold an entire country responsible for one man’s feelings. Now I’ll just leave it at: bloody hell!
A Russian actor recently spewed inflammatory comments about gays in Russia, saying he wants to burn them all alive in ovens.
Ivan Okhlobystin is a priest and actor who stars in Russia’s version of “Scrubs” and voiced a character in 2012’s “Snow Queen.” On Sunday, he made homophobic statements during a “spiritual talk” in Siberia’s Novosibirsk, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I would have them all stuffed alive inside an oven. This is Sodom and Gomorrah, as a believer, I can not remain indifferent to this, it is a living danger to my children!” he said, according to a Huffington Post translation of a local news report from NGS.Novosti.
“I don’t want my children thinking that being a faggot is normal,” he continued. “This is gay fascism! If a man can not choose an appropriate person of the opposite sex for reproduction — that is a clear sign of mental abnormality, then he needs to be deprived of that right to choose.”
I’m posting about this because I find one part of it humourous. Here’s the thing:
I know anyone can “friend” total strangers or “like” a page about someone famous on Facebook.
I also know that it’s typically heterosexuals who are homophobic and would issue death threats to a gay man.
I assume that if you’re “following” a gay porn star on Facebook (or anywhere else for that matter) you are 1. gay yourself and 2. into pornography.
So my question is: Who are these straight homophobic men who are “following” a gay porn star on Facebook?
Does anyone else find this amusing or just me?
Did Facebook temporarily suspend a gay porn star for posting a picture of him and his husband kissing?
Jesse Jackman certainly thinks so. The Boston-based adult film actor took to Twitter on Tuesday, claiming Facebook suspended his account because of a fairly innocuous kissing photo between himself and husband Dirk Caber.
Though the profile was eventually restored, a Facebook spokesperson said the site was looking into Jackman’s complaint.
