Harry Styles On Being Bisexual

I’m sorry, but people are getting pretty ridiculous about forcing celebrities out of the closet. Who are you to judge when and if a person should ever come out of the closet? And if he does later down the road, you are actually going to be closed minded enough to exclude him from your Bitch Party? (I refer to commenter called ‘Mariano G’ on the article) People in the LGBT community who exclude others based on their own agenda are just as divisive as heterosexuals. Whether Harry Styles is gay or bisexual is really a non-issue. I don’t know why people have to push the poor guy into a mould they’ve made.

If you don’t like others dictating who you should love, perhaps you should stop doing the same.

Harry Styles isn’t bisexual. Or, at least, he doesn’t think he’s bisexual.

The 19-year-old appears on the cover of the September 2013 issue of British GQ, one of five covers featuring the boys of pop group One Direction. When speaking with the magazine, Styles was asked about claims he is bisexual. Questions about the teen singer’s relationship with Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw have been circulating the rumor mill for months.

Styles insisted to GQ that he and Grimshaw aren’t dating and are just friends.

“Bisexual? Me? I don’t think so,” Stiles said. “I’m pretty sure I’m not.”

The rumors do sometimes bother the British crooner, who used to date country sweetheart Taylor Swift and has most recently been linked to model Kara Rose Marshall.

  1. This reminds me of Jodie Foster’s story-she came out as lesbian after years of guessing and judging from people. Any person famous or not should come out for themselves, not for the world to see.
I personally think harry might be bisexual but it really doesn’t matter what an unknown person thinks about another 🙂
    Good post.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Alex. All that matters to fans of Harry is the music he makes with the other boys in One Direction. None of the millions of girls who are fans give a second’s thought to who he might be seen with.

      1. Ironically, I have noticed that in most boy bands there’s a gay member:Mark from “Westlife” and Lance Bass from “N’Sync” for example 🙂 Which is cool with me.

  2. Erm, unless you’ve been in a closet yourself all this time, if you follow Harry closely, he’s been actively outing himself for years now. How do you not see it? His Twitter and stage antics are littered with queer innuendo, his friends tweet and insinuate gay refs to him, he supports gay charities and goes out of his way to be ambiguous. His own mother posts a pic of a Scrabble game they played with ‘queer’ on it. He understands the nuances of the gay community in more than just passing but he’s under hefty, multmillion binding contract so can’t just ‘come out’ and hence nobody can force him out anyway, his lawyers will be all over it, but he appears to have been encouraging people to think he’s bi or gay for years. I don’t understand how you’ve missed it, it’s been blatant. It’s also a clever move on his part, imo. It means he can say he didn’t entirely lie if the time ever comes for him to speak freely without 1D lawyers breathing down his neck. Imo.

And why aren’t you upset about the horrendous, overtly heterosexualised, abuser and user of women image his PR team and the media want to promote? Why is being seen as gay the demon here, rather than the mainstream encouraging young girls to think that the only way to get noticed by Harry Styles is to drop your panties for a quick one, since he uses and moves on within a week, if you believe the rubbish printed with gusto by the press.

The point is, the ‘they’ you talk about haven’t ‘made’ the mould. Harry Styles has made the mould and people have responded. The only mould that’s been made by fandom is the rather annoying obssession of throwing Harry and Louis together as some fairytale romance, when it’s probably not. But Harry’s individual noises have been out there for a long time, intermixed with all the routine PR shady shit that goes on. Fans only react to what he points out himself.

And I think there’s method in what he’s been doing, personally.

    1. First, Will, please get your panties out of their bunch because it’s clearly irritating you and making you lash out at me.

Second, I know nothing about Harry Styles or the rest of the guys in One Direction. So saying something like “I don’t understand how you’ve missed it, it’s been blatant.” is rather pointless.

I could care less if he’s gay or straight. In case you missed it, though, this blog is maintained by a Lesbian so being gay is hardly demonized. If Harry is a closeted gay man, that is something he will have to deal with in his own way and in his own time. I’m not here to pass judgement on why he is allowing his PR team and the media to portray him as a user and abuser of women (though I really think you’re playing fast and lose with the abuse part). It’s not my business.
